I want to make something very clear. In fact, I want to make two important points: One – you are never too old to start exercising and taking care of your body, and two – the most positive changes in your health and the age-reversal process happens when you exercise with progressive weight resistance, that is, with barbells and dumbbells as your primary means of exercise. I have seen great results with a program of just jogging. With stair-walking and/or bicycling, a lot can be said in its favor, but I have seen PROFOUND results and changes in the health, strength and renewed youth of individuals in their, 50′s, 60′s and 70′s when the individual adapts the use of barbells and dumbbells as their primary program of fitness. In this article, you will learn and discover that it is never too late, and you are never ever too old to start and continue body building for the rest of your life.
The 4 Reasons Why You’re Never Too Old To Start Exercising with Weights
Reason # 1 – People Have Started Body Building in the Seventies and Have Continued Into Their 80′s – I personally know of many people who have who were late bloomers, body building speaking, in their 50′s and 60′s and have continued to date still vigorously working out in their 80′s. Heck! I started when I was 57, and I am in better shape than most 30-year olds. What’s your excuse?
Reason #2 – As Long As You Start Gradually, You Will Get Stronger – Gradualness is the secret. You only need to start with weights that YOU can comfortably handle, and I promise you, that your body will get stronger and stronger, more and more supple, and more and more youthful.
Reason #3 – You Really Don’t Have A Choice – If You Don’t Use It You WILL Lose It – This is to say that before 30, youth is God’s gift to you. After 30, youth is your gift to yourself. After 40 – without exercise – and proper nutrition, it is all downhill from there. The good news is that you can reverse the aging process at any time.
Reason #4 – Life Always Seeks To Improve Itself – I don’t know what is your religious or life- philosophy belief, but my experience is that life always seeks to improve itself if given the means and the way to do so. This is the underlying reason why “practice makes perfect.” (Well, strictly speaking, I don’t believe that practice makes perfect, but practice most certainly makes improvement, and if we can constantly improve ourselves, perfection becomes closer and closer – even though we will never attain it while on this Earth.
